At just 21, Gauff snatches her second Grand Slam title, taking down world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in a hard-fought comeback win.

Coco Gauff just reminded the world why she’s that girl in tennis. On Saturday, the 21-year-old became a two-time Grand Slam champ after beating world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the French Open final, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-4.
After dropping a brutal first set, Gauff regrouped and flipped the script—outlasting Sabalenka with grit, speed, and calm under pressure. The win makes her the youngest American to win the French Open since Serena Williams in 2002, and only the third American woman this century to do it.
Despite windy conditions and Sabalenka’s early dominance, Gauff never cracked. Instead, she wore her opponent down, capitalized on unforced errors, and kept the momentum swinging in her favor all the way to championship point.
With the Suzanne-Lenglen Cup in hand and clay on her forehead, Coco ran to hug her mom—cementing a moment that felt bigger than just tennis. This was legacy in motion.
