ROYAL FAMILY UPDATE: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Hold Private Talks with the Queen and Prince Charles in Surprise UK Visit…
In a previously undisclosed visit, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the UK for a brief but significant meeting with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles at Windsor Castle, sources have confirmed. This marks the couple’s first joint appearance in the United Kingdom since they officially stepped back from royal duties in March 2020.
Their visit comes just weeks after Prince Harry opted not to attend the memorial service held at Westminster Abbey for his late grandfather, Prince Philip. At the time, Harry had expressed his intention to visit the Queen “as soon as possible,” a promise now apparently fulfilled.
The couple reportedly stopped over en route to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games. It remains unclear whether their children—Archie, 2, and 11-month-old Lilibet, whom the Queen has not yet met—accompanied them.
Public Surprise During Private Visit
Though intended as a private occasion, Harry and Meghan were briefly seen by members of the public during a traditional Maundy Thursday ceremony at Windsor. Witnesses described the couple as “relaxed and cheerful,” waving to a group of astonished well-wishers who were touring the area.
One eyewitness shared, “We were expecting to see Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, but seeing Harry and Meghan was completely unexpected. They looked happy and were gracious with the crowd.”
Since relocating to the United States, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have occasionally made headlines for their outspoken interviews and criticism of the royal institution. Prince Harry is currently involved in legal proceedings against the UK government regarding the removal of his police protection, claiming he no longer feels safe visiting the country without armed security.
Despite prior tensions, royal commentator Ingrid Seward, Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine, suggested that the recent visit may represent a meaningful step toward reconciliation. “This would likely have been a welcome meeting for all parties,” she noted.
