Breaking: Kate Middleton’s ‘wrench’ over her kids is hidden from public and ‘always breaks her’…See More
Kate Middleton has been the Princess of Wales for more than a decade now, but there is one aspect of the role that the royal still finds particularly challenging.
Kate Middleton feels “a wrench” whenever she has to leave her three children behind during overseas tours.
The Princess of Wales’ recent absence from royal duties due to cancer treatment has emphasized how tough royal visits can be for her when she’s away from her children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – for an extended time.
Royal author Katie Nicholl, who has been on multiple tours with Kate, shared that despite the mother-of-three’s public grace, it’s a significant challenge for her to be separated from her family. Nicholl said Kate has come up with a “really normal” solution to ease her pain.

Nicholl observed: “Despite being the Princess of Wales and being able to afford around-the-clock nannies and so on, she had her mum looking after Prince George and Princess Charlotte, which struck me as just really normal.
I could see how much comfort and confidence that gave her in getting on with her job, which she does brilliantly, but I think it is always such a wrench for her to leave her children behind.”
It’s possible Kate will now be spending more time away from her children after returning to work following the end of her chemotherapy treatment. Earlier this month, the Princess of Wales joined her husband Prince William as they met with families and emergency responders involved in the Southport stabbings from earlier this year.
Kate and William commended emergency teams who responded to the tragic incident, where children were attacked by an intruder at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party on July 30. During the attack, Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe, and Alice Da Silva Aguiar, tragically died.
During the visit, Kate embraced those who had been present at the dance class. The unannounced trip to Merseyside, England, was William and Kate’s first joint official outing since her course of chemotherapy cancer treatment ended in the summer.

It is understood the engagement was planned as a solo visit for William but Kate decided to join her husband in order to show her support to the local community.
