Breaking News: Patrick Mahomes Showed His True Colors With Four-Word Messages To Jalen Hurts After Their Game Loss… See More
Patrick Mahomes showed his class immediately after he had his Super Bowl dreams dashed by the Philadelphia Eagles as he embraced with Jalen Hurts in the middle of the field.
Hurts put on a much stronger performance than his counterpart, being hugely helped the Philadelphia’s offensive line stifling Kansas City’s defense throughout the evening. Meanwhile, the Eagles’ defensive line put on a dominant performance in pressuring Mahomes on 50% of his passing attempts without blitzing once.
The Chiefs loss ended Mahomes’ dreams of wanting to become the first quarterback to lead his team to three consecutive Super Bowls. But after the game, he handled the loss well as he greeted Hurts in the middle of the field to congratulate him and Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni before leaving the field.

Mahomes was heard telling Hurts: “Congratulations. Go enjoy it.” That was before he exited the field himself, returning to the Chiefs locker room.
The quarterback was quick to face the music, answering questions with reporters for over 12 minutes in his press conference, taking the blame offensively for their struggles. Conversely, Travis Kelce did not speak to the media in a press conference after the game, and was seen leaving the stadium alone as he looked devastated throughout the majority of the evening.
The two are now 1-1 in Super Bowl’s against each other
While Mahomes had thrown two costly interceptions, only few would doubt the tough situation the quarterback had been put in through the Chiefs’ struggling offensive line.
Kansas City will now have much to do to their roster in order to come back and be competitive next year, with them likely to lose some key players in free agency while opening up cap space to make additions of their own.
Meanwhile, the Eagles will continue their celebrations for the next few weeks, with Hurts lifting the Lombardi Trophy for the first time since being drafted by the team in 2020. The Eagles have much of their roster contracted through the next few years, while being an exciting group of core players, looking like they’ll be a competitive team for the next few years in the NFC.
