CELEBRITY
Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, congratulated Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on their engagement…

After the singer and NFL star announced they’re getting married in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, Aug. 26, Brittany and Patrick, both 29, reacted to the news with messages of support.
“Two of the most genuine people meet & fall in love. Just so happy for these two,” Brittany, 29, wrote in a post on Instagram Stories, adding a white heart and a crying-happy face emojis.
Patrick, who is opening his Kansas City-based restaurant 1587 Prime with Kelce this fall, also shared the joint Instagram post to his Stories and added three red hearts. The Chiefs quarterback cleverly put Swift’s song “So High School” — which Swift wrote about her relationship with Kelce — over the Story.
The singer and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, both 35, announced their engagement with several photos from their floral-filled garden proposal on Tuesday. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift wrote in the caption.
Patrick and Brittany have been strong supporters and frequent companions of Swift and Kelce during their two-year relationship, from double date nights at the US Open to dinners out in New Orleans.
The news of their engagement comes just after Swift surprised fans by appearing on Kelce’s New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce. On the episode, Jason, 37, asks the couple if it’s true that Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was the “one who set you guys up.”
The pair didn’t shut the statement down. “Whatever Andy Reid says we’re gonna stand by,” Swift answered, adding, “That’s what happened.”
Swift also revealed the “insane” first question she asked him on their first date during her New Heights debut. “On our first date, I legitimately asked him what it was like when the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl and he looked across the field across the line of scrimmage and saw his brother standing on the other… five feet in front of him on the field,” Swift recalled.
“[Travis] didn’t even look at me. Like, I now know what an insane question that was,” Swift said. “He was like, ‘Actually, I’m on the offense and my brother’s on the offense, and I’m only on the field at the same time as the defense.’ I thought everyone was on the field at the same time.
