Jannik Sinner Reveals What It Was Really Like Meeting the Royal Family: Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte take in the action during the Wimbledon men’s singles finals between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz…

Following his victory over Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner met with Kate Middleton and Prince William and their two eldest children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George. The family watched the match from the Royal Box.
“In the beginning, I didn’t know what to say,” Sinner admitted in a press conference following the match. “It’s difficult to understand, you know, how you can talk. I always try to talk very natural.”
Sinner continued, “I asked the kids if they play tennis and asked them what kind of rackets they play with, these kind of things.” Prince George replied, according to tennis journalist José Morgado, “I play with Yonex.”
During their conversation, Prince William asked Sinner about how his elbow was feeling (he had fallen during his match against Grigor Dimitrov). Kate also told him, “It must be so wonderful seeing the names on the [winner’s] board and your name amongst it.”
On meeting the Waleses, Sinner said, “It was amazing. I believe for us tennis players, it’s so nice to have them watching us because it makes it even more special. You see how much they care about tennis and the sport itself. It’s very prestigious. I’ve been lucky to meet her and the whole family, and it was a very nice moment.” Sinner signed tennis balls for Princess Charlotte and Prince George, along with their younger brother, Prince Louis, who was not in attendance for the match.
Kate, as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, presented Sinner with the winner’s trophy following his win.
