The Prince of Wales revealed today that his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis adopt environmentally friendly practices at home in their own bid to save the planet.
Prince William, who will attend the Earthshot Prize Awards in Cape Town, South Africa, gave a new interview to the BBC ahead of the glitzy ceremony tonight.
The future King revealed that all three of his children like to recycle, minimise water use and turn off the lights when they leave the house, following his footsteps over making environmentally conscious decisions and “make real impact”.
BBC’s Daniela Relph asked the prince: “I’ve met some amazing young people here this week in South Africa. Really inspirational.
“Can I ask about your own young people in your family? Are they very interested in what you’re doing out here. What about at home? Your own environmental strategies at home? What can you tell us?”
William responded: “Yeah, well, you know, every family tries to do what they can to sort of help with the environment.
“We go through all the basics of recycling and making sure we minimise water use and turning off lights when we leave the house and stuff like that, and making sure, which is sensible in what we do around the environment.
But I brought the children along that journey and tonight I hope they are watching and they are proud of kind of what we are try to do here, which is to really galvanise that energy that enthusiasm to make real impact.”
